Kizl's in Southington was very busy on a Thursday morning. 4 stars coming mainly from service. Colleen was very friendly and attentive throughout. Breakfast food is "ok". You definitely get a lot for the price. You won't be hungry. But don't expect an omg this food is amazing reaction. Bacon overdone, pancakes underdone. Overall ok with eggs, hash browns and toast. It's a diner type vibe and if you go in knowing it's that kind of food you'll be fine. Food was served fast even when the place was so busy.
Tasty breakfast with very healthy portions of food..large selection of omelettes and meals and a great selection of sides. Pancakes were huge and very filling. The staff was friendly and our server was accommodating to our party of 6. She never flinched at the substitutions, refills, or additional requests. We would return for sure
Food was pretty good, the servers were very nice but a little slow, it was very busy though due to the holiday weekend, definitely a cute little diner for breakfast or lunch, would come back
Kizl’s Restaurant - Bristol/Southington, CT. Small quaint family restaurant with tables and booths. Open from 6am til 2pm. Plenty of Parking. Service was outstanding. Prime Rib Dinner for 12.99 on Fridays which comes with mashed potato and a vegetable. Don’t know the price of the soup/cole slaw. Chicken and Rice Soup made in house. Chopped carrots, diced onions, chopped celery and cubed chicken. Lots of rice..perfect amount of broth to bowl of soup ratio. Came with a couple packs of crackers as well but don’t need them. Cole Slaw made in house and has the right amount of sweetness to it that you don’t even need a dash of salt. Prime Rib was a huge slab and cooked to a perfect medium rare. Came with an au ju/sauce on the bottom of the plate..you absolutely do NOT need steak sauce. It does have some fat on it but that’s where the best flavor is when you get/cook a steak. On a scale of 1-5…easily a 9..on a scale of 1-10..easily a 15. This place is a hidden gem, the food is delicious, service is outstanding and I will be back.
Stopped by Kizl's after attending, Cliff Con at the Doubletree in Bristol (great show for comics and other collectables). There was a bit of a wait but they sat us within 15 minutes. It was Sunday late morning (around 11:30 a.m.). It was definitely a majority of an older crowd, I am assuming maybe coming from church. They were also some other families there. Everyone seemed to know the lot of other people in the place between the guests and the staff. Staff was very friendly and the restaurant was very clean. Three of us sat in a booth in the main dining room. The booths are spacious enough to seat a larger person and the tables are not attached to the wall so it can be adjusted to accommodate different size people on each side of the table Two of us got the Kizl slam breakfast and I got the fish and chips. There's a ton of food on the breakfast plates and although my plate only had two pieces of fish, they tasted very fresh and was a perfect amount with the fries and coleslaw. I tend to be particular about my coleslaw and it was just sweet enough for me to enjoy it. I also found the prices to be more reasonable than most diners these days. Everything is expensive now, but this is definitely lower price than other places. I also took a picture of the QR code for the menu that is on each of the table corners when you are seated. I would definitely recommend this place if you live in the area or are coming to visit. Lisa P. Was our server and she was great!
